House Charity Events

Update 2 March 2024:

We have a busy half term ahead of us. We have three charity events taking place.
For Years 9-13 Zeus House are organising and presenting a lunchtime quiz on Thursday 14 March in support of the British Heart Foundation. Based on the ITV’s Chase they are holding 'Beat the Bagan' starring the one and only Mr Bagan who will be taking on teams from each House. The question is, can anybody beat him? Tickets are available at £1 on SCOPAY for Years 9-13 to purchase. (Students to bring a packed lunch on that day as there won’t be time to go to the refectory and then get into the quiz).

Artemis house is hosting the Year 7-9 Spring Disco on Friday 22 March 7-9pm in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust. We have the DJ, the drinks and snacks available to purchase - we just need YOU. Come and boogie the night away whilst raising funds for a very worthwhile cause. Tickets £5 available on Scopay.

Finally, and this is for all Year groups, Apollo House is presenting a Heritage Day and Fashion Show on Thursday 28 March. This is not a non-uniform day. Look into your family tree - see where your descendants have come from and celebrate your heritage in the way you dress. Whatever you do make it different from your everyday clothes. There are a list of clothing items we will not be allowing so please follow the rules. More details on Heritage Day and how you enter
the lunchtime fashion show will be available nearer the time.

Update January 2024:

Our first House Charity Event took place before Christmas on 14 December 2023.  'I'm a Teacher Get Me Out Of Here' was organised by Laiba Saeed, the House Captain of Gaia / Green House and she was assisted by other members of the House Leadership Team as well as Sixth Formers from different Houses, notably Laura Moseley from Athena / Purple House.  It was fantastic to see such collaboration across the School and the event was a great success, enjoyed by staff and pupils alike.  Together we raised over £250 and had a lot of fun in the process!

The winner was Mrs Brink (Artemis / White House) and Artemis House will be awarded 50 House Points. For all other staff that took part we will award 10 House Points for participation. Thank you for rising to the challenge and eating some really quite disgusting treats.

A big shout out to Mrs Laurent for all her help with this event. We'd like to offer a big thanks to all of you who supported the event by buying tickets.
