Leaders have high expectations for the conduct and behaviour of pupils. There are clear and established routines that support pupils to behave well. Pupils respect teachers and follow their instructions. OFSTED 2023 Report.
At Chingford Foundation School, we are proud of our students and the progress they make throughout their school journey. Our Pastoral Team works closely with staff, students and families to ensure that every young person feels supported, recognised and encouraged to succeed.
Celebrating achievement is a central part of our pastoral provision. Students are regularly recognised for their effort, conduct, attendance and wider contributions to school life. This includes weekly recognition of achievement in assemblies, as well as rewards and celebration events that highlight the successes of individuals and groups across the year.
We also offer regular reward trips and enrichment opportunities as part of our rewards programme. These experiences are designed to motivate students, recognise positive behaviour and commitment, and build a strong sense of belonging within the school community.
Student voice plays an important role in our pastoral system. Our Student Leadership Team works alongside staff to represent student views, support school initiatives and contribute positively to the wider life of the school. This helps students develop confidence, leadership skills and a sense of responsibility.
We are proud to be involved in the Jack Petchey Achievement Award Scheme, which recognises and celebrates outstanding young people who have made a positive difference through their effort, resilience or commitment to others.
Strong attendance is also actively encouraged and rewarded, reflecting the clear link between attendance, wellbeing and academic success. Through consistent support and clear expectations, we aim to help every student attend regularly and engage fully with school life.
