Chingford Sixth Form Celebrates Excellent Post-16 Results

Students and staff at Chingford Sixth Form are celebrating an excellent set of post-16 results. Provisional results indicate that the Sixth Form has once again achieved a positive post-16 progress score, meaning that, on average, students at Chingford achieve better outcomes than would be expected based on their GCSE results.

The Numbers

Half of all A Level grades awarded were A*–B, with three quarters at A*–C
60% of students studying vocational subjects achieved a Distinction grade
73% of students are progressing on to university courses
Over 30% of students are taking up places at Russell Group universities

There were some exceptional individual performances.

Standout Achievers

There were outstanding achievements across A Level courses.

Emily Coleman achieved an exceptional A*, A*, A* in Business, Economics and Psychology and will go on to study History and Political Economy at KCL.
Lucas Tapping also achieved A*, A*, A in Economics, Electronics, and Maths and will go on to Economics at Bristol University.
Koray Krocer achieved A*, A, A in Maths, Computer Science and PE.
Megan Patel secured A*, A, A in Economics, History and Politics and will study Economic History at LSE.
Ella Taylor achieved A*, A, A in Art, Biology and Media and will study Biomedical Science at London Metropolitan University.
Fabian Ozdoba achieved a remarkable four A Levels, securing A*, A, A, A in Electronics, Maths, Further Maths and Physics and will study Electrical Engineering at Imperial College.
Alexia Ailenei achieved A*, A, A in Psychology, English Language and French and will study Psychology and Language Science at UCL.
Jonah Neal achieved A, A, A in Economics, Geography and History and he will go on to study Economics at Bristol University.

In vocational subjects, Alena Elias was the Sixth Form's highest-performing student, achieving a Distinction* in Creative Media alongside a Distinction in Skills for Business.

Exceptional Progress

Alongside these exceptional headline grades, the Sixth Form is particularly proud of students whose results demonstrate the significant progress they have made during their time at Chingford.

Inaya Ayaaz achieved B, B, C in English Language, Psychology and Sociology and will go on to study Social Sciences at KCL.
Alfie Driver achieved A, B, C in PE, Politics and Biology and will go on to Politics at Queen Mary University.
Archie Freeman achieved A, B, B in Sociology, Media and Psychology and will study Psychology at Westminster University.

Each of these students achieved, on average, two grades higher than their GCSE results suggested they were projected to achieve, demonstrating the exceptional progress possible during two years at Chingford Sixth Form.

Subject Highlights

Success was seen across a wide range of subjects. In Maths Koray Krocer, Freddy McQuarrie and Fabian Ozdoba all achieved A* grades. James Clack and Emily Coleman secured A*s in Business; Lucas Tapping and Fabian Ozdoba achieved an A* in Electronics; and Megan Patel, Emily Coleman and Lucas Tapping were awarded A*s in Economics. In Psychology, Alexia Ailenei, Emily Coleman and Maya Raichura all achieved A* grades, alongside many more outstanding performances across the curriculum.

The school is immensely proud of everything this year group has achieved. Their results reflect not only their hard work and determination, but also the commitment of the teachers, support staff and families who have supported them throughout their Sixth Form journey.

Looking Ahead

While today is rightly an opportunity to celebrate academic achievement, grades alone do not define the young people leaving Chingford Sixth Form. We are even prouder of the caring, ambitious and resilient young adults they have become. They have contributed enormously to the life of our school community, supported one another and demonstrated determination through the challenges they have faced.

We wish every student the very best as they take their next steps into university, apprenticeships, employment and beyond. We look forward to hearing about their future successes and watching, proudly from afar, as they continue to flourish.
