Ski Trip 2023
Our Chingford Foundation School students who attended this year's Ski Trip had an absolutely amazing time!
The group departed on 31 March and arrived at Claviere in Italy far later than scheduled due to the coach party being involved in the 'critical incident' declared at the port of Dover, which was the lead story in the national media that weekend! The Chingford Foundation School students were a genuine credit to the School, demonstrating incredible resilience in these somewhat extreme circumstances, caring for one another and maintaining good humour throughout.
The issues with the journey were all but a distant memory once the group arrived at Claviere however, and they went on to enjoy an fantastic week of skiing, and a trip into the city of Turin. There were lots of opportunities to have fun too with a bowling trip and a disco.
Ski Trip 2023
One of our Year 8 students said: "The staff on the ski trip were bossy but in a good way. The skiing itself was so fun and I would definitely do it again. I loved going to Turin as well."
Mr Mahir, who organised the trip, said: "It was wonderful to once again be able to take our students on the ski trip. We had a very enjoyable week, despite the difficulties we unfortunately encountered at Dover on our outward journey. Throughout the challenges with the travelling and the entire week, the students were impeccable representatives of Chingford Foundation School and all the staff agreed that we were very proud of how they conducted themselves at all times."
Our thanks to the staff involved in the 2023 Ski Trip, Mr Rackliff, Miss Willoughby, Mr Gillespie, Miss Bell and Mr A. Mahir, and in particular, to Mr H. Mahir and Ms Heaton for organising everything so well and successfully leading the trip.
