Celebrating our School

At Chingford Foundation School, we pride ourselves on our culture of ambition, success and celebration.

Celebrating our student and staff successes allows us to come together as a community and reflect upon our collective and individual achievements, and those who contribute to our inclusive community.

Positive Referrals

Students that display sustained and excellent effort receive positive referrals; published weekly and promoted prominently in school grounds. In addition, positive referrals are given half termly for outstanding attendance and punctuality, celebrated in assemblies and highlighted through PowerPoints. Students who reach the required threshold also receive a blazer badge at the end of the school year (Year 7- Bronze; Year 8 – Silver; Year 9 – Gold; Year 10 – Platinum).

Sports Awards

A long-established system of half colours, full colours, sports captains, and honour certificates has been developed to celebrate achievement, success and effort.

Departmental Awards

Student of the Month certificates are distributed in assemblies and commandment postcards sent home to those who demonstrate great effort, skill and going above and beyond.

Form Awards

Heads of Year display weekly charts for best attending tutor groups and tutor groups with the most cumulative positive referrals.

Lower School and Middle School Presentation Evenings and Year 11 Certificate Evening

Students receive books and trophies for their efforts, skill, hard-work, passion and determination displayed in all aspects of school life.

Rewards Trips

Students that demonstrate particularly impressive behaviour or attributes are rewarded with events or trips, such as the cinema, bowling, seaside or Thorpe Park. Events held in school are also utilised to reward specific year groups – a film and refreshments, lunchtime barbeque or evening disco.

Responsibility Positions and Badges: Form Rep, Form Captain etc.
