Chingford Foundation School

It gave me great pleasure to accompany the 2014-2015 Jack Petchey Award winners to their Presentation Ceremony at Walthamstow Town Hall last week.  Each pupil went on to the stage to receive a gold medallion, which you can see in the picture, and had an opportunity to meet the Mayor of Waltham Forest.

As the pupils sat on the stage their citations, explaining why they had won their awards, were read out to everyone and I was particularly proud of the amount of commitment in the school and local community that was represented in the work for which these various pupils have been nominated.

These pupils should be an inspiration to you all to try to win a Jack Petchey Award for yourselves, or at least to become as involved as you can in the school community and your local community. Even without a medal or a badge, this is always worthwhile.
