Chingford Foundation School

Tuesday 5th July

School OPEN for Years 7, 10 & 12 only on Tuesday 5th July

The National Union of Teachers has called a national strike for the above date. As multiple members of staff belong to the NUT, we expect this industrial action to degrade the capacity of the school to provide teaching and supervision of pupils.

After careful consideration of risks in light of the expected reduced staffing, it has been decided that, whilst the school will be able to open, we will only be able to accommodate certain year groups.

Details are as follows:

Year 12

ALL Year 12 students should ATTEND school as normal for the whole day.

The Media Studies trip (leaving at 3pm) will run as planned.

Year 10

ALL Year 10 students should ATTEND school as normal for the whole day.

Year 9

We are unable to run lessons for Year 9, therefore Year 9s should NOT ATTEND.

However, the Year 9 Tennis trip will still run – pupils participating in this trip have been made aware of details separately.

Year 8

We are unable to run lessons for Year 8, therefore Year 8s should NOT ATTEND.

Year 7

ALL Year 7 students should ATTEND school as normal for the whole day.

The Diving trip (during the morning) is likely to run , but may be subject to late cancellation.

Any disruption to pupils’ education is naturally very regrettable, and the school is grateful for the understanding of parents on this occasion.
