New Peer Listeners!

A new cohort of student Peer Listeners receive training.

The second cohort of students were trained on 1st February 2019 to operate the Peer Listening Service, running out of the School Early Help Hub; with the aim of involving pupils in creating an environment in which all students are enabled to achieve their academic potential, through offering another layer of support. Receptionists will offer appointments before school; while Peer Listening drop-in and appointment sessions will run each morning and lunchtime.

A past user of the Peer Listening Service, now trained to offer the Service to other students said “We learned many new skills, but the thing I learnt the most during training was that we were there to listen, question our peers and not to offer advice, to keep it confidential, but pass on cases if students were at risk”.
