On Thursday 19th March I had the pleasure of taking the year 7 boys team to the Barking Sporthouse for the Essex Schools FA Futsal tournament.
Our first game against Eastlea was a good performance and we ran out easy winners 4-0 with goals from Marco Protic, Fred Brislen-Hall and 2 from Demaray Anyadike. The second game in our group was against Brentwood School and this was a much tougher test. We won 1-0 with a fantastic strike from Aral Hakverdioglu.
Our final group game was against Passmores which finished 2-2, with Marco and Demaray scoring one each.
We won our group and qualified for the semi-final against Beauchamps school.A very tight game ended 1-1 which meant a penalty shoot-out.
Harvey Livings, Ange Mulala and Marco scored their spot-kicks. The third penalty from Beauchamps was brilliantly saved by Jack Moore which put us into the final.
The opponents were All Saints school from Dagenham, who defended well throughout the tournament and were well organised.
We scored in the second minute through Demaray and never looked in trouble after that, controlling the game and creating chances and if it were not for the All Saints keeper, it could have been a greater victory.
Final Score 1-0 to CFS. Champions of Essex!
The team were fantastic throughout the day, playing well, behaving brilliantly and being a real credit to themselves and CFS. I had so many positive comments from teachers, parents and the organisers saying how good our boys were on so many levels. It was my pleasure to be there.

The team now qualify for the South East Regional Tournament which takes place after Easter.
